Acrylics and Inks
I use many different mediums. I often switch, based on my current inspiration. My day could include watercolor, acrylics, spray paint, pencil pen and ink or epoxy. Sometimes I go old school and even do a little decoupage. I try to refurbish the old rather than use all new canvases. I find my pieces in a variety of treasure shops and paint or build what that piece brings out in me. If the bones are good I let it tell me what it wants to be. I never know what medium I’m going to finish with when I start , these are pieces that I started, as simply epoxy pieces and turned into much more.
The Process and My Workshop
There are many steps in the creation process. Throughout my process, I like to document how the project begins and how it evolves. I am often surprised by the finished product.
I started out with a studio in the house, and soon discovered, working inside was a hazardous business. Now I do most of my work outdoors and in my workshop, a converted garage. I adore the Florida weather. I do my best work in the fresh air. Because I use so many different mediums, I find that each piece needs a different space to create.
